About Us

Sriya Neti
Founder

Hello! I am Sriya Neti, a student with a love for animals, traveling, and, most of all, learning new things. Currently, I am a sophomore at American High School in Fremont, California. Before high school, I was fortunate enough to visit the Bay Islands of Honduras. During my trip, I visited some government schools, and I was able to see the dearth of resources students were offered due to their lower socioeconomic backgrounds. Troubled by this disparity, I founded Guide a Kid, a 501c3 non-profit organization. Through this organization, I hope to complete many projects myself and by inspiring other students. Guide a Kid aims to provide these students with a platform where they can help make a difference.

Mohini
Focus: Computer Science

Hello! My name is Mohini Chahal, and I am currently a sophomore at American High School in Fremont, California. My favorite things to do are baking, spending time in nature (especially watching sunsets), and spending time with my family. I find it therapeutic to spend time with kids to teach them new things. I always love learning new things and had a passion for coding from a young age. Since then, I’ve learned Java and Python. I aim to support young students and introduce them to computer science to help them navigate their journey through the vast world of technology.

Rashmi
Focus: Arts

Hi! My name is Rashmi and I am a sophomore at American High School in Fremont, California. In my free time I love to do art, run track, cook, read, and hang out with friends. Kids have always played a big role in my life. Despite being an only child, I always found myself interacting with and taking care of the other children in my community, whether through babysitting or interactive art classes. Over last summer, I was able to raise money by teaching children in my community art. I hope to utilize the money I raised and put it towards providing children with more resources to learn. Guide a Kid allows me to use my love for art and turn it into something that will provide kids with a sense of hope and stability.

Hi, my name is Aaditya, and I’m a junior at Wilcox High School in Santa Clara, California. I love traveling, playing sports, composing music, and being with my friends. When I visited India with my family for vacation, I noticed that many students did not have the same opportunities as I had. Particularly, with certain STEM subjects. I have a passion for wanting to improve worldwide knowledge on topics that are becoming more applicable in our society today. With Guide a Kid, I am attempting to ensure that my passion will turn into a project of helping kids.

Yash
Focus: Facilities

Hello! My name is Yash, and I am a eighth-grade student at Hopkins Junior High School in Fremont, California. My hobbies include playing tennis, spending time with friends, and taking part in math competitions. During a recent visit to my family in India, I noticed that a nearby government school had a run-down playground with rusty metal bars, despite having buildings similar to my elementary school. This experience ignited a passion in me to help provide better learning and playing facilities for other children. As part of my efforts with Guide a Kid, I am worked to raise funds to build a playground for a primary government school in Telangana, India.
